I was browsing through the App Store on OSX yesterday and came along a very simple yet useful application called QR Generator. The program allows you to easily create QR codes that will link folks to a website, your email, a vcard or any random text you'd like in a easy to work with .png file. Cool. And for the low price of 2.99 USD, why not?

Today, Google launched +1, a button that users can click on blue links in Google Search results to say, in Google marketing's words, "this is something you should check out."
Beginning today, a small percentage of Google search users on Google.com in the United States searching in English will now see a +1 button next to search listings, when they are logged in. An example of this is shown in the video above.
Google will use all the recommendations to not only improve search results, but also to bring content and URLs into some sort of content stream on Google.com that will look a lot like the Twitter stream and the Facebook News Feed looks now.

Lanyrd.com - track tech and social media conferences around the world

The social conference directory Lanyrd.com offers a directory of conferences, events and speakers. Visitors can sign in with Twitter to see events their friends are attending or speaking at, submit new events, add talks that they have given and build up their speaker profile. This Y-Combinator backed startup will undobtedly grow over the coming months filling a void in the conference world. Highly reccomended.
